At just 13 years old, Taimoor Shaikh has already made history for East Kilbride Cricket Club and established himself as one of the brightest young talents in Scottish cricket.
Taimoor’s exceptional skills have been recognised with selection to the Western Warriors Regional U15 squad and also for the Scotland U15 National Squad, proving that his talent is being recognised well beyond his club and at national level.
Taimoor captained both the Under-12s, Under-13s and Under-14s teams during the 2025 season, leading with distinction and composure beyond his years. Under his leadership, the U12 side won their league – a first in the club’s long history. Not stopping there, he also guided the U13 team to Finals Day qualification, another historic milestone for East Kilbride Cricket Club.
A true all-rounder, Taimoor’s individual performances this season have been nothing short of extraordinary. He has scored over 1,000 runs and taken over 75 wickets across all age levels – a rare feat that highlights his skill, work ethic, and consistency with both bat and ball. His bowling achievements include
- 1 six-wicket haul,
- 2 five-wicket hauls, and
- 6 four-wicket hauls,
- He made headlines by scoring an unbeaten century at U14 level, becoming the FIRST player ever to score a hundred in the WDCU U14 league.
