Founding and Early Years

EKCC was founded in 1962, making it one of the oldest cricket clubs in the town of East Kilbride.
The club is run entirely by volunteers. As noted in a motion in the UK Parliament celebrating its 60th anniversary, EKCC has played a “profound difference to grassroots sport” in East Kilbride.
The club’s home ground is at Torrance House, Calderglen Country Park, East Kilbride.

 Community Role, Growth & Inclusivity

EKCC isn't just about adult competitive cricket:  The club has been praised for developing a strong junior and women's section. The 60-year anniversary motion especially highlights that they run youth and women's teams, engage with local schools, and provide coaching (including by experienced coaches, e.g. former international players).

This community/work-with-schools approach helps keep cricket accessible at grassroots level in East Kilbride, and supports both youth development and wider participation.
