CRICKET SCOTLAND ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH PLAY HQ

Cricket Scotland is pleased to announce a new partnership with Play HQ that will
transform how club and community cricket operates across Scotland.

The collaboration will see the existing player registration system (SCRS) and live scoring data system (CS Live) merge, streamlining domestic cricket operations with a unified
competition and membership management platform. The new platform will be operational
in time for the start of the 2026 Scottish domestic season.

PlayHQ’s platform will help Cricket Scotland, Scottish clubs and Regional Associations
build and grow their partnership whilst ultimately reducing the administrative burden,
creating more time to focus on growing the sport, and making cricket more accessible for
participants through simplified registrations, automated scheduling, integrated payments
and real-time scoring.

Cricket Scotland and PlayHQ will work with all stakeholders across Scotland over the
coming months, including clubs and the five regional associations, as part of a phased
rollout to provide comprehensive training sessions and dedicated support. This process
will ensure that clubs, administrators and members are confident and ready to use the
new platform when the Scottish domestic cricket season begins in April 2026.

As part of the transition, Cricket Scotland has renewed and extended its partnership with
FrogBox so clubs can continue to stream their matches and experience seamless and
integrated streaming and highlights.

Trudy Lindblade, Cricket Scotland Chief Executive, said

“We are delighted to announce this new partnership with PlayHQ which we expect will
create significant benefits for the Scottish cricketing community. It has been clear for
some time that having one all-encompassing system which captures registration,
membership, player data and live scoring is extremely important for growth and
development along with improved communications within our game.

“Backed by successful partnerships with Cricket Australia, New Zealand Cricket and
others, PlayHQ brings proven, world-class capability. We’re excited to begin rolling out
the new platform to our members, Regional Associations and clubs across Scotland.”

Tim MacKinnon, Chief Executive of PlayHQ, said:

“Scotland is one of the biggest cricketing forces in Europe with enormous opportunity to
grow the sport across its diverse communities. We’re bringing a battle-tested platform
with years of cricket experience in Australia and New Zealand to Scotland – streamlining
operations so clubs can focus on what matters most: getting more people playing and
keeping them engaged with the game they love.”

Rob Knee, FrogBox Chief Executive, said:

“FrogBox is pleased to continue our long-standing support of Scottish cricket. We look
forward to working alongside Cricket Scotland and PlayHQ on the next phase, continuing
our commitment to connecting clubs, players and fans through accessible and engaging
cricket video.”

The new partnership strengthens PlayHQ’s presence in the United Kingdom alongside
Basketball England and reinforces the platform’s proven track record of serving over 11
million participants and 100,000 administrators globally across cricket, netball, AFL,
hockey and basketball.
