EK returning captain Umair Saeed won the toss on a green wicket with gloomy conditions and put the host Penicuik to bat first, EK bowlers strike early and got 2 top order wickets cheaply. One each for Tom and Stewart. Then came the Penicuik pro Ryan Nurse who was lucky still to be there as he was Lbw first ball but umpire Mike thought the other way around, he scored 79 before he was caught at log on by Shiraz bowled Shahid Mhmood who finished at top figures with 5 for 27 and Shiraz on other end following him with 3 for 18.
East Kilbride was given 179 to chase of 50 over’s but rain decided to intervene and it became heavy every minute. Game was called off around 5.
Ekcc has all important tie against Pollock this Saturday at home, EK needs to show good results and win this to make sure we sit in top 4 when the pool splits.
