Royal High Costorphine hosted East Kilbride Cricket Club for the Round of 16 rescheduled Scottish Cup tie.
RHC won the toss and elected to bat first. The opening batsmen showed intent with early boundaries until Kampman and Khan picked up one wicket each early on.
This left opener Elliot Foster and Hammad Azam at the crease who had a fantastic partnership with Foster being an early aggressor. RHC looked like scoring 400 at one point until breakthroughs from Umair Khan and Imran Mughal started a slow collapse where the RHC batsmen could not maintain their momentum finishing on 305 for 8.
A large total for EK to chase. However, a flat pitch and sunny conditions suggested this EK side had a fighting chance.
This was not the case as EK lost the crucial early wickets of Mughal and Sheikh which left Iqbal in the middle with wickets falling around him. A couple of nice cameos with Meikle and Khan showed promise, however, both were judged LBW just as they were getting comfortable. Moneeb managed to reach 75 before the team were all out for 150. A poor loss after a very long, hot and tiring weekend.
