EK slumped to one of their biggest defeats of the season travelling to Stenhousemuir. Without Qasim Sheikh due to unforeseen circumstances and a shuffle of the batting line up East Kilbride were well beaten by 130 runs.
EK won the toss on a deceptively decent wicket and chose to bowl. What looked like should have been a nightmare pitch, wasn’t at all. Stenhousemuir posted 212-7, Overseas professional Rushdi Jappie scoring 101 not out.
East Kilbride’s reply started as it usually does, fiery and quick, Imran Mughal hitting 10 off the first over. However, a day of batting long was not in any of the EK batsmen’s heads. Not one player scoring over 20. A pretty shocking day at the office to say the least. Promotion had already been gained but not much application was shown on the day.
We look forward to the challenge of next season, planning is already in the process.
