Ashas East Kilbride lost by 127 runs at Titwood in another bitterly disappointing result in a game which was always in the home sides favour.

On a relatively overcast morning at Titwood, East Kilbride played PSL Team Sports Clydesdale in what most hoped would be a fierce encounter, especially with Clydesdale having won the first match between the two in a midweek 20/20 game.

EK won the toss and decided to bowl on a pitch witch seemed to suit the seamers and offer much assistance to bowlers. Clydesdales openers Paddy Barbour and Majid Haq seemed conserved in their approach until the 9th over when Barbour advanced down the track and missed a straight one from recently signed Syed Shah for 11. His departure brought Clydedale's own new signing Ritchie Berrington to the crease and the Scotland duo quickly showed their class with some well timed shots and quick singles. Despite this, EK maintained control of the run rate and got the breakthrough just after the halfway mark when Haq was adjudged LBW by skipper Josh Johnston for 45. Clydesdale professional Con De Lange quickly picked up where the previous pair left off as he asserted his authority by hitting his first ball for 4 through point. After building a seemingly unbreakable partnership and Berrington freeing his arms with a six over long on, he fell for 51 when he chipped the ball straight to mid wicket, held on by Umair Saeed off Shahid Mahmood. Soon After reaching his 50, De Lange was then also out caught behind by Peter Bocock off Syed Shah. From then onwards EK seemed to be gaining the upper hand up until a tremendous knock from Clydesdales Number 7 Mo Awais who went on to hit 40 off just 21 balls including a 'Dil-scoop' over fine leg for 6. Clydesdale finished on a well constructed 237-8 after 50 overs.

The EK response seemed to be going well with Stewart Kampman and Harmanjit Singh playing fluently and picking up the odd boundary, with one particularly picturesque straight drive from Kampman in the 5th over. Despite a solid start a shot from Kampman controversially resulted in Clydesdales first wicket with questions raised whether the fielder was in full control of the ball. Aside from the opening partnership of 29, EK's dismal batting displayed as wickets fell cheaply and Clydesdale spinners, De Lange and Zeeshan Bashir proceeded to rip apart the East Kilbride middle order with combined figures of 8-34. Any resistance shown by Peter Bocock was in vein as a lack of support and accurate bowling reassured that East Kilbride were never truly in the game. East Kilbride finished up all out for just 110 with Gavin Meikle not out on 7.
