Lacklustre batting performance leads to defeat
On a sunny Wednesday evening East Kilbride welcomed Clydesdale to Torrance house for an west league cup game. EK lost the toss and were invited to field by Clydesdale. EK turned in an average fielding display with a few dropped catches and misfields that lead to Clydesdale scoring around 20 more than they should have and setting EK a target of 127 to win.
EK started the chase in a positive fashion but lost wickets at regular intervals with Gary carrying his bat for a well made 59 not out. EK too many times got a boundary early in the over and didn’t then push for singles and put pressure on ourselves. In a game we should have been winning we managed to turn it into a comfortable defeat.
Everyone is expected to attend training on Thursday that can make it to work on these most basic of areas.
