On wendnesday the first team travelled to Poloc in this west league cup fixture. After 3 days of sunshine it was to be expected as soon as the match start time came around we would be treated to some rain. Thankfully this didnt last long and we were shortly underway. Moneyu won the toss and decided to bat. Gary and Money opened and set a solid foundation with Gary playing the anchor role and Money the aggressor. Money holed out to long on in the 6th over attemptign to up the scoring rate for 16. This bought Ally to the crease who was quickly sent on his way by Alan 'Gun' Dickie. This then bought aftab to the crease looking to carry on his great form from the Ayr game. He went first ball yorked by the spinner Mahmood who found himself on a hat trick. Stewart then took a while to play himself in but when he was starting to get goign he was run out diving full length to make his ground. Given most of his body had made his ground by the time the direct hit came in it was a very poor call. Pete then came in a provided some much needed acceleration to the innings. Smitty looked to up the scoring rate too but could only managed 2 before beign bowled and Joel ran himself out in suicidal fashion. Tom joined pete and with some scampered and suicidal running managed to get the score upto 110.

Stewart and Tom opened the bowling and Stewart bowled tight while Tom looked out of sorts. Gary replaced Tom and bowled a fantastic spell dismissing the opposition pro. Joel replaced Stewart and looked like he could go either way. Thankfully he took the two important wickets to effectively end Polocs challenge and seal the win for EK. Well done guys!

Special mention is made to Calum Edmond who made his 1st team debut filling in. Well done Calum you did yourself proud and hoepfully took a lot from the experience.
