East Kilbride won the toss and elected to bat. With the absence of the club captain Harmanjit Singh, Joshua Johnston took over and also Stevie Mann stepped up to the 1XI. East Kilbride opening pair Gary Kleinvelt and Gavin Meikle were quickly 1 down after an unusual caught behind dismissal. Gary kept the runs flowing and also his partners came and went, with only Peter Bocock managing to get to 27. He was out to an LBW decision that surprised some of the fielding team also. East Kilbride came out fighting. Openers Stewart Kampman and Stevie Mann bowled the first 12 overs for only 20 runs, a mix up by the Weirs opening pair from a free hit saw the first wicket fall at the expense of a run out. Stevie also picking up a wicket along the way. With the score going nowhere Umair Saeed came to the attack and halted the trickle of runs. Saeed completing his spell 8 overs 1 wicket for 9 runs, a great performance. Spin twins Shah Mahmood and Joshua Johnston now bowling in tandem and cleaned up the rest of the weirs batting lineup. Mahmood picking up 4 wickets for just 23 and Johnston 2 wickets for 17. A mediocre chase by Weirs closing play 87 all out. Another win under East Kilbride's cap.
